Release - Otomen v07 c01-04 + some other stuff

Otomen before GA but there are some explanations before the actual release so you might want to read it first. Oh and I've written some things in my previous post with the Mushishi download links, read those too!

I've decided to stop making 1200h versions. I've never really cared about those anyway and now that I'm doing 4X00h version as often as possible this is just a pain in the ass. My reason for more 4X00h releases is that they are getting more downloads than I thought, so why not...
Ok, what I said wasn't completely true. GA will still get a 1200h version and no 4X00h. Same with Hell Girl since I don't have my old source files anymore (though I still don't have the last book of Hell Girl yet and who knows when I'm buying it). I have similar problems with Yozakura Quartet, Hitohira and My Heavenly Hockey Club but I have no idea if the rest of the volumes are even getting published someday.

Alright, next, no more 1280w version too although there is just a small change here. Instead of basing the resolution on a width of 1280px I'm now basing the resolution on a height of 2000px. There won't be much of a difference because in the 1280w version the height was around 1900-2000px anyways but on average the files will be a bit bigger than before. The reason for this change is just that it's easier for me, simple as that. But enough talk for now, here's the release:

Otomen

Volume 1: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU
Volume 2: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU
Volume 3: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU
Volume 4: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU
Volume 5: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU
Volume 6: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU

Volume 7: 2000px H MU | 4400px H MU
Chapter 1: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU
Chapter 2: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU
Chapter 3: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU
Chapter 4: 2000px H MU | 2000px H MF | 4400px H MU (v07 end)

Hmm....since I made some changes I'm re-releasing v1-6. v7 has 4 chapters so it'll be finished by Thursday and on the weekend I'll get you the first volumes of Girls Bravo.

What else...nothing really. I've written quite a bit again today. One last thing though: if I get like a hundred comments from you demanding the 1200h version back I'll think about it.

Enjoy

  2. I'm surprised to hear that the 4000px links have received more downloads.

I don't mind the 2000px versions in lieu of 1200px versions. However, I won't download the 4000px versions simply because they occupy too much space on the hard disk ad my screen is not wide enough to appreciate the detail that is stored in such a high resolution image.

Thanks a lot for scanning and releasing both versions. I'm sure that the collectors who have ample space on their computers would download the very high resolution links. As for me, I'll be content with the 2000px links.

Yeah, I though the 4X00px versions would only get a couple of download, maybe a dozen...but all the Lucky Star volumes got over 100 downloads per book and Azumanga got even over 200 downloads and those were my only 4X00px versions until a few days ago.

    @alzamer2
Do you mean the 1280w version or the (smaller) 1200h version? The 2000h version is essentially the same as the 1280w it's just a bit more convenient for me.

  4. @senfgurke2
    i mean 1200h
i have program that can re-size the images in batch without damage the resolution and it's fast and i don't mined shareing it with you

  5. Re-sizing isn't the problem but if there's only one person who cares about it enough to leave a comment why should I care. Sorry about that.

  6. Firstly, thank you for scanning Otomen's 1st chapter of volume 7. Second, I don't really mind these size versions and the total obsolete of 1200h. I'm just thankful enough that you're sharing this with us, no matter the size.

  8. Thanks a lot, but I hope you post a batch link for the entire volume once all the chapters are uploaded. Downloading by the volume is so much quicker/more convenient than downloading by the chapter. I don't mean to complain though...Thanks so much for your hard work!!!

  9. Yeah, I'll always post a batch download when a volume is completed, though not for MF. MF has no captcha, waiting time or download limit so a batch link would purely convenince.
It's understandable that people would like a batch for MU because not everybody hast a premium account. Although I'd prefer it if everybody used MU anyway so I can redeem a free month of premium service some day.

  10. I don't mind 2000px too but it's too big for me so I'm just gonna resize them myself. :)

And thank you so much for the scans! :D

  11. For reasons that elude me, megaupload has been giving 'Server not Found' error to me for the last week or so. Could I request a mediafire link for the complete volume version (of v07)?

If no, I'll just download them by chapter (there's no difference between the by chapter release and the volume release, right?

    ReplyDelete
  12. ops, I forgot to say, for the 4400px H version (if possible for all volumes, but that might be a tad too much a request - only managed to download v01 before megaupload went wonky on me).

It's a bit too big of a size for my harddisk, but thinking that the monitor size is increasing by day... and I am planning to burn the manga away for safekeeping, so it's all good.

And, much much thanks for scanlating them ^__^ and especially Gintama too :D

  13. Ah... never mind the above :D I found ways to access megaupload now. Wonder what's up with them anyway.

Thanks again for the scans ^^

  14. Uh... that didn't work too well. And so I am back to requesting an alternative link for the 4400px H version (mediafire works fine).

I am really really sorry for all the hassles, and for cluttering your blog with these comments.

    And thank you again.

  15. I just tested the links again and everything works fine.

I'm testing with jdownloader for convenience but all files are online. It's true though that MU gave me some problems too a couple of weeks ago with my uploaded files, saying they're temporary not available and whatnot but I don't think there was a problem for 1-2 weeks now. I test almost all of my files and there never any persistent download problems afaik.
Either try again normally or just get jdownloader or something similar. It will automatically try to download the file every 5-10 minutes so you should get the file eventually.
If it's absolutely necessary I'll upload it somewhere else but I'd really like to keep MU as my main host, just because I can get a free month of premium service some day (I'm paying for premium too though).

  16. Yep, I know that the link is working fine. It's just me that can't connect. I checked with anonymous proxy sites, and they load just fine. Except that they have bandwith limit and 400+mB is waaay above it.

From what I have gathered these last few hours, thanks to google, it looks like my country decided to ban megaupload and several other file sharing sites (thankfully not all). Hopefully... they will change their mind about it (as I am sure plenty will complaint about it), but since it's been almost 2 weeks since I was last able to access megaupload...

    I don't really want to bother you and making you upload the files elsewhere either, especially since it's working just fine with everyone else. But yeah... ><;

I think a certain torrent site put the scans up once the series is complete, but it'll be awhile. I do can wait though :) Just hoping that if there's an alternative way around it...

And thank you very much for the fast reply ^___^

  17. Oh, now I understand, alright. If that's the case I'll upload it to another hoster too but MF has a upload limit of 200MB per file so I could upload everything that's released as chapters but not complete volumes. So I have to find an alternative and there aren't many hoster out there that allow these big files while still having a good download speed and preferably no download limit for free users...and I have to admit MU isn't too good in that department either. I just had a premium account for over a year now and never thought about how it was for free-member or no-member downloads. So it might take some time to find something good. Please help me too though and suggest some good file-hosters where you can download comfortably without having to pay for a premium membership (just for my 4X00h files, meaning file size of 400MB+ and in rare cases even 1GB.

  18. Hmm... all in all, I think megaupload is still the best one around, resume support and unlimited. And since no one else seems to has any problem with it, you could probably continue uploading there. I am happy to download them by chapter off mediafire :)

    But if you are still looking for file sharing sites... well, I am not too familiar with downloading big sized files so it's a little hard for me to suggest any. The ones that are listed below are what I could make of google-ing. So I can't say they are particularly good or not... .__.;

    (Not in any particular order)

http://jumbofiles.com/ haven't used it so not sure of the speed, but since it has the resume option, I figure it's can't be too bad.

http://filefactory.com/ not sure of the download speed, but the upload limit per file is (for free user, that is) 2 GB. And download limit for free user is 24GB per day, didn't mentioned anything about per file.

http://megashares.com/ hmm... not too sure about it, and downloding files more that 550mB seems like a hassle but it might be worth a try.

http://ge.tt/ fairly new site I think since it seems to be in beta stage still. Upload limit (per file) is 2GB I think. No mention of download limit.

http://www.filesavr.com/ not much info on this saves for the 2gb upload limit per file.

Others that might be worth a try:

    http://fpsbay.com/
    rapidshare?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Rapidshare has a 500MB filesize limit, altough no download limit you just have to wait up to 5min for each file.
Megashares has a 550MB per 2h limit, otherwise it's ok though with a nice download speed.
I haven't downloaded too much from Filefactory, never liked it too much and the download limit is 150MB/h, the 24GB is for premium members.
Never heard of the others, though jumbofiles seems to be similar to ifile.it (mentioned this hoster in my Otomen v08 post edit). ge.tt and filesavr look also ok. I'll just upload a test file to each and look and the speed.
