Status - Excel Saga and more

It's been a while since my last post.

In August I started scanning Excel Saga and was progressing at a steady pace but that has since stopped. I can't really bring myself to continue right now and since I'm back at school again, I don't have as much time as before. I said before I'd release Excel Saga once it's completed but I don't know when I'll get back some passion to start working on it again. I might just release the 12 volumes that are done so far and continue some time later.

I still wish to finish the rest of Suzumiya Haruhi once v20 is out and I'll let you know if anything changes with that.

I got nothing else, this is just to let you know what's up.

  3. It's important to take care of yourself first, so you don't run out of energy to help others, or worse, end up becoming too ill to do anything at all.

BTW, Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro v. 4 finally came out in English. I bought a copy this week and it was simply lovely, but with a bit more growing darkness and an actual pre-kuro Kuro and a pre-Sen Sensei flashback! I also asked my local library to carry it. Everyone should check it out! Literally!

  4. Hey this isn't related to Excel Saga but is instead from someone who found this site due to Sumomomo. Just wanted to say thank you! Your work is very much appreciated, and take care of yourself!

  7. +1 Children of the Sea

Are you considering digital rips? Coz hardcopy scans are the better.

Having said that ANY release would be greatly appreciated seeing as I've been waiting since Mangascreener's last release over 5 years ago!

    1. I've had the physical books for a while now and scanned v1 a few years ago. I bought this because someone donated for it, finished it, send it to the donator, who said they wanted to do some additional work on it, then never heard of them again. The book has a ton of double pages and could use quite a few re-draws if it's supposed to look good. I don't have the skills, so I didn't do any further work in it.

    2. Hmmm....

Well, Daisuke's art is one of the main attractions of his work so I can understand why it'd be best to redraw the double pages....

but how about just keeping the double pages like this:

You could also provide raw scans of the double pages in the hope someone decides to stitch them.

It may also be worth contacting Illuminati Manga as they have scanlated many of Daisuke's manga and have some of the best editors. Their group head GGpX can be most easily reached on IRC at: irc.irchighway.net/Illuminati-Manga OR email at: gaminggodp at gmail dot com

Whatever happens best wishes and MANY thanks for all your past releases.

    4. This is essentially what I do right now, just put the two pages together and leave a white space between them. It's just that my pages would probably a bit more cut off from the middle.

    5. I don't really care if I work with somebody together on this, but probably won't reach out to someone at this time. If somebody is interested enough, they could leave a comment here and I can provide them with my scans for v1, so they can see what they're getting into, with the possibility of me scanning the remaining books.
